NeuroConnect began in 2009 as a magazine resource for ABI survivors and professionals in Ontario. Since then we have become a national resource and distribute our resources across Canada.
What kind of company are we:
We are not a not-for-profit organization. We are a private corporation-but one of a different kind. The founders of NeuroConnect decided to make it a private corporation to implement ideas quickly and have the ability to quickly change with the times. There are many non-profit organizations to assist survivors and both business structures have both advantages and disadvantages. NeuroConnect is a private corporation to complement the work of non-profit organizations, not to create competition with them.
All of the revenue we get from advertisers goes back into our resources for survivors. In the first year we have distributed over 10,000 magazines, launched an interactive website for communication within the community, and have reached hundreds of individuals on Facebook and Twitter, as well as supported survivor owned businesses. This year, with continued support, we hope to do even more.
We have many things planned for 2011 including distributing more magazines (as our requests have increased) and hosting a fundraiser for the Ottawa Hospital Foundation so that they may purchase a Virtual Reality Rehabilitation system for ABI survivors. Please see "Events" page for more information.
How we distribute our magazine:
Our magazines come free of charge to anyone in Canada. We distributed over 10,000 hardcopies to survivors, professionals, hospitals, and family members last year and many more electronic copies. Anyone can be added to our mailing lists free of charge simply by emailing info@neuroconnect.ca or by calling us at 416-882-0233.
All of our initiatives are supported by our advertisers, each of whom we sincerely thank. For information regarding advertising opportunities, please email ads@neuroconnect.ca
